How to succeed in on line class
It is very important to plan time for reading, studying, and preparing for on line classes. The recommended formula to determine expected amount of TOTAL TIME required for success in an on line class is as follows: Schedule 5 hours per unit, per week for studying. Example: 5 unit class –5 hours per week Study time = 15 hours per week TOTAL TIME: 15-20 HOURS PER WEEK FOR A 5 UNIT CLASS Homework This course is worth five units. The homework is appropriate to a five-unit course and will make 30% of your grade. There is also a co- requisite of 16 hours spent on Line in CONNECT. We will be using e-book in CONNECT, blackboard lessons, and Publisher’s website AVANTI 3, Voice thread, Skype and write blogs. |

Myths about Taking Online Classes
There are more similarities than differences between online and face-to-face (f2f) classes, including the material, assignments, and in a modified form, discussions. However, some individuals expect online classes to be easier than f2f classes. In reality, online classes may be more difficult for some students, primarily because it is so easy to “forget to go to class” They require a high degree of self-discipline. On campus the formal class schedule helps you keep up with the work. You have to make yourself watch online lectures on a regular basis, or you will fall behind. To get the most out of your class, participate thoughtfully, professionally, consistently, and often! What you get out of a class is directly proportional to what you put into it. If you do not actively participate in all phases of the classroom, you cheat yourself out of the learning experience. |
